Helping LA 2025 - Dyed to Order
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE LISTING ABOUT DONATIONS GIVEN AND TURN AROUND TIMES.
THIS IS A DYED TO ORDER LISTING, the turn around time is about 3 weeks. Please be patient as we dye your yarn. Because this is dyed to order and for a charity, all sales are final.
Please check out separately from other items, if you're wanting the other items more quickly then we can process "Helping LA." If you order items together with this listing, the whole order will be held until "Helping LA." is ready to ship.
GIVEN TO CHARITY: All of the proceeds of the sales of this colorway will be donated to Samaritan's Purse. Proceeds means, we will cover our costs and donate the rest.
It feels like such a short time ago I was putting together the listing to help Maui, and now another city needs our help! Samaritan's Purse has been our chosen charity for quite some years now to help with natural disasters and tragedies like hurricanes and fires. This organization has boots on the ground so quickly with food, water, medicine, shelter, and supplies. We love them for their kindness and helpfulness when we are in need.
UPDATE 1/27/25: We have given our first donation of $1500 to SAMARITAN'S PURSE!! Thank you to everyone who has purchased. Yes, this listing is still open and we will do another donation from the sales.
ABOUT HELPING COLORWAYS: We started Helping Hippos in 2017 to help with the disaster relief from Hurricane Harvey. Since then, we have released a
Helping" colorway for natural disasters that strike the United States and given the proceeds to charity.
WHAT WILL "HELPING LA" LOOK LIKE? This one is a little different from our past Helping Hippos. This one isn't a "hippo" colorway. I have dyed up a colorway that uses the colors in the graphic: pinks, peaches, and deep reds. It is speckled evenly throughout the skein, like our usual speckled colors. It's a colorway you haven't seen before.
IT'S NOT A SURPRISE: Today (1/13/25), I have dyed the color and will get it dried and take photos. I will include the photo in this listing and post it on social media ASAP. If you love knowing the color, please wait to see the photo so you know you'll love it.
WHAT COLORS WILL COORDINATE?
Reds: Amazed
Pinks: Pinky Tuscadero, Princess Peach, That's Amore, Strawberry Wine
I also think tans and browns would go beautifully: Yeti, Parchment, Bourbon, Dragonfly in Amber, Brown Eyed Girl, Double Espresso.
We have ALL of these color in our Lil Lolo (mini skeins) on Loriginal and USA DK. Some of these colors are also available on full skeins.
YARN BASE SUGGESTION: If you've never shopped with us before, our 2 most popular bases are Loriginal (fingering weight) and USA DK.

_________
Each skein is hand dyed, they are each unique regardless of being the same colorway and name. If you are making a multi-skein item, you will want to alternate skeins.
The photos you see are just a few skeins. The skein you receive will not look exactly like this photo, as each skein is unique, but will have the same colors/style. Some skeins have more or less of each of the colors. This is the beauty of hand dyed yarn.
While I try my best to take photos to accurately represent the colors, each computer/mobile device varies in colors, if you have questions about color/photos, please ask.
Hand dyed with professional acid dyes. We wash all yarns in water several times to see that the water is running clear. Then they are washed in unscented Eucalan wool wash. Even with this process, you may still get minimal bleeding on the first few washes.
Dyed and stored in a smoke-free, dog-friendly studio.
Care: For best results, hand wash in cold water with an unscented wool wash of your choice. Lay flat to dry.
Detergent: I recommend Eucalan unscented, or another wool-specific unscented wash.
