Helping Hippos - Corriedale Sock - ships within 4 weeks

As we have watched the devastation come out of Texas and Louisiana from Hurricane Laura, we decided to bring back our annual fundraiser. This will be the 4th year we have dyed a colorway called "Helping Hippos" which is a colorway that dedicate the proceeds to hurricane relief. This year is a new hippo color scheme with the same cause!

All of the proceeds of this colorway will go to helping people affected by this devastating hurricane. We will donate to Samaritan's Purse. I'll update on donations given in my newsletters, so keep an eye out there for information on how much we have given.

If you are not interested in the colorway or not interested in donating to this particular organization, please consider giving directly. There are so many wonderful organizations to choose from who are helping with hurricane and disaster relief.

YARN BASE: This year we are doing something a little more special. I'm going to be using a new yarn base we are calling "Corriedale Sock" which is a work horse yarn. It's a nice soft yarn with a little tooth to it. It will make your socks nice and durable, but has a great next to skin feel. You will love it!!!

75% Superwash Corriedale, 25% Nylon | fingering weight | 437 yards | 115g

It is plump like Plush Sock and has a similar hand feel to BFL Tweed.

Right now, I have no plans to carry this yarn as a regular base, so this is a truly special opportunity to try a breed-specific yarn base you may have never tried before, and give to a good cause while you're at it!

COORDINATING COLORS: Sriracha, Elaida, Sweetness, Blazing 7's, Bumble, Nynaeve, Lucky, Elayne, Bette Davis Eyes, Blue Suede Shoes, Narnia, Wonka, Naked Hippo, Angry Rhino, Coal Miner's Daughter, Folsom, Lanfear, Carson, Ash, Dreamsicle, Buttercup, Mint, Clouds, Amethyst

THIS IS A DYED TO ORDER LISTING, the turn around time is undetermined because we do not know the response we will get to this. Please be patient as we dye your yarn. Because this is dyed to order and for a charity, all sales are final.

If you are ordering other yarn/accessories in the same order, we will ship them all together. If you would like your other items shipped in our normal turn around time, please order separately.

Since this is a charity yarn and I'm expecting a high volume of orders, I will not be taking the time to combine orders or separate orders.

Each skein is hand dyed, they are each unique regardless of being the same colorway and name. If you are making a multi-skein item, you will want to alternate skeins.

The photos you see are just a few skeins. The skein you receive will not look exactly like this photo, as each skein is unique, but will have the same colors/style. Some skeins have more or less of each of the colors. This is the beauty of hand dyed yarn.

While I try my best to take photos to accurately represent the colors, each computer/mobile device varies in colors, if you have questions about color/photos, please ask.

Hand dyed with professional acid dyes. We wash all yarns in water several times to see that the water is running clear. Then they are washed in unscented Eucalan wool wash. Even with this process, you may still get minimal bleeding on the first few washes.

Dyed and stored in a smoke-free, dog-friendly studio.

Care: For best results, hand wash in cold water with an unscented wool wash of your choice. Lay flat to dry.

Detergent: I recommend Eucalan unscented, or another wool-specific unscented wash.
