Please check out separately from other items, if you're wanting the other items more quickly then we can process Helping Hippos. If you order items together with this listing, the whole order will be held until Helping Hippos is ready to ship.
GIVEN TO CHARITY: All of the proceeds of the sales of this colorway will be donated to Samaritan's Purse. Proceeds means, we will cover our costs and donate the rest.
There is so much devastation from the wide path of this strong storm! At the time of writing this 49 people have lost their lives. We know Samaritan's Purse is already on the scene across 5 states helping practically and emotionally. But, so much more help will be needed in the coming weeks and months. Please consider giving directly. There are so many wonderful organizations to choose from.
ABOUT HELPING HIPPOS: We started Helping Hippos in 2017 to help with the disaster relief from Hurricane Harvey. Since then, we have released a Helping Hippos colorway for natural disasters that strike the United States and given the proceeds to charity.
WHAT IS A HIPPO? A hippo colorway is a light gray yarn base with colorful speckles. If you'd like to see what Hippo Colorways look like, THIS LINK will take you to Instagram to show you examples.
WHAT WILL HELPING HIPPOS LOOK LIKE? This Hippo colorway will be our usual light gray yarn base, this year the speckles will be the colors of the main photo in this listing. As soon as I get it dyed up and dried, I will post photos and update this listing.
ALL Helping Hippos have been rainbow-style colorways, as a sign of hope in the midst of disaster. Genesis 9:13 I have placed my bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

_________
Each skein is hand dyed, they are each unique regardless of being the same colorway and name. If you are making a multi-skein item, you will want to alternate skeins.
The photos you see are just a few skeins. The skein you receive will not look exactly like this photo, as each skein is unique, but will have the same colors/style. Some skeins have more or less of each of the colors. This is the beauty of hand dyed yarn.
While I try my best to take photos to accurately represent the colors, each computer/mobile device varies in colors, if you have questions about color/photos, please ask.
Hand dyed with professional acid dyes. We wash all yarns in water several times to see that the water is running clear. Then they are washed in unscented Eucalan wool wash. Even with this process, you may still get minimal bleeding on the first few washes.
Dyed and stored in a smoke-free, dog-friendly studio.
Care: For best results, hand wash in cold water with an unscented wool wash of your choice. Lay flat to dry.
Detergent: I recommend Eucalan unscented, or another wool-specific unscented wash.
